In Loving Memory...

Jayson P. Haugen

Jayson P. Haugen, age 34, resident of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Michigan, ND, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his home in Bismarck.

Jayson Paul Haugen was born September 25, 1982 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Jay and Paulette (Severson) Haugen.  He was raised in Michigan and baptized and confirmed at the Michigan Lutheran Church.  He attended Dakota Prairie High School, graduating in 2001.  Jayson then attended UND, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.  He graduated in 2006 with degrees in Information Systems and Business Management.  Jayson worked for several businesses, including Whitey’s in East Grand Forks, the Bismarck Elks Club, and currently at the Toasted Frog in Bismarck.  He was a true sports fan, and a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, NY Yankees, and UND Fighting Sioux.  Jayson was an excellent golfer and an impressive singer.  His favorite karaoke song was Mac the Knife.  He loved music of all genres and was a real movie buff.  He enjoyed going to concerts and sporting events with family and friends.  He had a great sense of humor and style, and some may not know, a healthy fear of spiders!  He was an entertaining story teller and he could even dance.  He enjoyed playing pinochle and he loved spending time with his daughter, nephew, nieces, family and a multitude of friends.  If Jayson was your friend, you had a friend for life.

Jayson will be deeply missed forever by his family and everybody that knew him:  his daughter, Jayden Collins of McVille; his mother, Paulette “P.J.” of McVille; 2 sisters, Shelly (Eric Wald) Roningen of Bismarck and Penny (Duane) Lippert of Aneta; 3 nieces & 1 nephew, Madison, Paytan & Riley Lippert and John Roningen; 2 uncles, Mike (Elaine) Haugen and Randy (Tess) Severson, both of Michigan; 4 aunts, Dawn (Robert) Godwin of West Yellowstone, MT, Cathy Brueckner of Niagara, Holly (Kevin) Rothwell of Westminster, CO, and Linda (Lloyd) Diemert of Monroe, WA; his cousins, Bryan (Leana) Haugen of Whitman, Shandy (Mike) Hatlestad of Hillsboro, Brittany (Nick) Hemmingsen of Larimore, Tanner (Amber) Brueckner and Cody Brueckner both of Niagara, Rachael (Josh) Hilsinger of Brighton, CO, Kory (Laura) Severson and Kristi Stewart, both of Kent, WA, Jill (Garrett) Kunz of Bismarck, Tyler (Leticia) Severson of Michigan, and Ross Severson of McVille.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jay; his grandparents, Paul & Delores Severson and Al & Dorothy Haugen; and his uncle, Gary Brueckner.

The Memorial Service for Jayson will be held at the McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND, on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Officiating will be the Reverend Sherri Frederikson.  The organist will be Linda Loe, the soloist will be Shelly Roningen accompanied by Sharon Young.  Interment will be in the spring at the Michigan Cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers will include the Dakota Prairie High School graduating class of 2001, his Sigma Chi Fraternity Brothers, co-workers from his Whitey’s family, the Bismarck Elks Club, and the Toasted Frog.  Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, ND, on Monday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Dear,PJ,and to the whole family and friends.

Today as hard as it may be, celebrate Jayson life from the moment he came into this world and took his first breath, smile, laugh, cry with loving tears.  Remember when you held him in your arms and loved him the first time you looked at his face and into his eyes, what you felt.  All the things, first words and steps, falling down and watching him pull him self up and the first again, from first grade with all the events that took place and there are many.  The day he graduated from high school and no how proud you and Jay and everyone who loved him.  And from that day, to his last day here on this earth, the one true thought he never would want was stop living  or leave you and everyone he loved! or break your heart, plus all the other people he loved.  This is the hardest part of life and we all will meet.  Jayson is living but just in another place.  His soul and spirit are very much alive and in spirit.  I believe with all my heart, Jayson will be with you all.  So let this day be a Celebration of his life with the ones who loved him and the ones Jayson lived with played, danced, and sang with, and went through all kind of events with.  I love you PJ and this family, and though I can't be there, due to medical, I send my love  and prayers my thoughts in these words and I ask God along with all the Angel and Saints, that the blessing of Love and grace touch you and this Family and all of friends.

Sincerely, Love, Patty Kay Kouba.

To Jaysons family
Learning of Jaysons passing brings us happy remembrance of our times spent with Jayson.  A nice child and a nice man.  Quoting the Bible "Trust In the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  Acknowledge him and he will direct your path."  Sorry for your loss.
